Personally one of my greatest fears in getting older is developing Alzheimer’s Disease. You know what I mean, the body is good, but the brain is failing! Inflammation is the body’s way of protecting itself. When we’re sick or injured the inflammatory response is the way we heal ourselves. However, sometime this can go awry and the inflammatory response never gets turned off. Additionally, chronic inflammation can be due to diet, environment, and stress. Currently, the only way to measure inflammation is by testing for one’s C-Reactive protein levels. Optimally, it should be less than one.

Now, here’s why I’m so excited to talk about Alzheimer’s; if I can control inflammation and limit my risk factors then I should be able to help my great grandkids with their multiplication tables.
